Business Manager, Business Support Services Department

Under general direction from the Business Support Services (BSS) Assistant Key Business Executive; this position will serve as Division Manager for the Office of Resource Management, directly responsible for providing leadership and management to a team accountable for five main functions:

· KBU financial operations (inclusive of annual budget planning and monitoring, fee model development and administration, capital planning, and overall management of service charge backs to external and internal customers),

· Human Resource Management (inclusive of recruitment, workforce planning, performance enhancement processes and consultation), Performance Management and Reporting (inclusive of Balanced Scorecard, Budgetary reporting requirements, business plan objectives, and reporting of strategic initiatives),

· KBU communications (writing, publishing, consultation, development and implementation of internal and external communication strategies to support the wide range of diverse business functions and services delivered from each BSS Division and Office and development and maintenance of the BSS Intranet sites),

· KBU executive support inclusive of overseeing records management functions for BSS.

In addition to the core administration for BSS, oversees the telecom accounts management team that manages service agreements and accounts for cellular and land line accounts for the City of Charlotte.

The work involves the ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative and involves extensive contact with other internal service providers and customers. Must demonstrate the ability to serve on corporate level committees/work teams to make sound recommendations and establish collaborative relationships. Incumbent must have the ability to learn and apply extensive business administrative management practices to support a diverse set of businesses (Procurement, Equipment Management, Information Technology and Network Technology Services.)

Requires ability to incorporate data analysis into strong business case recommendations. Must be adept using various productivity and software analysis tools and specifically an intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, as well as many other internal software applications. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and seven (7) years of demonstrated work experience or a Masters Degree and three (3) years of experience. Salary range is $72,407.70 – $80,453 (Commensurate to market rate and education/experience).
